Martha Elizabeth Allison, known affectionately as "Martie," passed away on October 29, 2023 in Conway, Arkansas. Born on August 12, 1948, in Shreveport Louisiana, she was the daughter of Walter Parke Rupert III and Beulah Beatrice (Johnson) Rupert. She was a 1966 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School and had a fulfilling career working in various customer service roles before retiring. She had a natural affinity for working with people and found joy in connecting with others.
Throughout her life, Martha found solace and fulfillment in her faith. She was a devout Catholic and spent many hours praying for her family, friends, and others. Martha's dedication to both her family and her faith led her to actively participate in church activities and sing in the church choir at different points in her life.
Martha's devotion to her family was unparalleled. As a loving and single mother, she cherished her children and grandchildren immensely.
Those who knew Martha would describe her as kind-hearted and welcoming. She possessed an incredible work ethic paired with a humble nature that made those around her feel at ease. Martha's strength was unmatched as she navigated life's challenges with grace and determination.
Additionally, she channeled her creativity into cake decorating, delighting her loved ones with delicious treats on special occasions.
Martha was predeceased by her parents, Walter (Parke) Rupert and Beulah Rupert, as well as her brother, David Campbell Rupert, and granddaughter, Amanda Marie Allison. Her legacy will be cherished by her surviving family members and friends, including her brother Lauren Rupert (Kathy), sister Ann Shannon, sister Kathey Green, sister Susie Cooper, brother Stephen Rupert (Debbie), and brother John Rupert (Jeanette). She is also survived by her children John Allison III (Janice), Sheila Allison, Laura Durle (Anthony), and Michelle Johnston (Daniel), along with her grandchildren Courtney Allison, Jade Allison, Whitney Wames (Bill), Wyndelynn Shillings (Tyler), Bernadette Durle, Rebecca Rowett (Henry), Matthew Durle, Gianna Durle, Angela Durle, Dominic Durle, Joshua Durle, Alexander Durle, Blake Johnston, Spencer Johnston (Lindsie), Ethan Johnston, and great-grandchildren Zoey Neyland, Isaiah Clouse, Brooklyn Tyler, George A. M. Thompson Jr., Catherine Wames, Austin Shillings, Nora Bockmon, and Paisley Shanle, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Her family were her pride and joy.
Martha touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will live on forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she made a profound impact on the lives around her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Homecare of Arkansas - Conway and Conway Healthcare and Rehabilitation for the love and care shown to our mother.
A visitation in honor of Martha Elizabeth Allison will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home - North Little Rock, located at 1921 Main St, North Little Rock, AR 72114, on November 7, 2023. The visitation will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the visitation, a rosary will be held at the same location from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on November 8, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, situated at 7000 John F Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116. The ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM and conclude at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
