Martha Lou Rogers

Martha Lou Rogers, 96, of Sherwood passed away April 9, 2025. She was born May 30, 1928 to the late Ocie Oliver and Carl Byrd Speer of Tinsman, Arkansas. She was a mother, grandmother, homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church, Sherwood.

Survivors include two children: Joseph D. Rogers (Sharon) and Kathy Derden (the late David Derden); daughter-in-law, Lisa Rogers; grandchildren: Adam Rogers (Shawna), Renee McDonald (James), Kenny Rogers (Michelle), Michael Rogers (Tara); great-grandchildren: Chase Rogers, Lani Rogers, Kalyn McDonald, Grasyn McDonald, Brantley Rogers, Reed Rogers, and Annie Rogers; and a sister, Joan Bryant (Jerry).

She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Steven Rogers, David Wayne Rogers; a brother, Carl B. Speer, Jr.; and husband W.D. “Joe” Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Health Hospice, 11001 Executive Center Circle Dr., Suite 300, Little Rock, AR 72211-4300.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Kingsland Cemetery, Cleveland County. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
