Martha Lou Horne Davis, 87, of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, April, 11, 2007 in Arkadelphia. She was born in the Unity Community on May 16, 1919 to Thomas Absolum and Callie Wesson Horne.

She worked for Arkadelphia Public Schools for 46 years and 15 years for Dawson Co-op. She was a member of Arkansas Association of Educational Office Professionals for 60 years and received the first "Martha Lou Davis Prestigious Service Award" and was selected President Emeritus. She was also a member of the Colerean Club, Clark County Retired Teachers, and the Philharmonic Club. She served as organist of Second Baptist Church for approximately 70 years and was Church Treasurer for many years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church for 78 years. She loved to shop and travel, and was always thinking of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Logan Davis; her four brothersHugh Harold Horne, Wilford Wesson Horne, Henry Paul Horne, and Thomas Absolum Horne Jr.; and 2 sons, Thomas Lawrence Davis who died at birth, and Jim Davis; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Rudolph.

She is survived by her son, John Davis of Katy, TX, his wife, Sherry; and four grandchildren: Eric Davis, and his wife Stephanie of Arkadelphia, Julie Lyn Davis-Taylor, and her husband, Andre "Tory" Taylor of Houston, TX, Jeremy Davis and Brett Davis of Katy, TX; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Addison Davis of Arkadelphia. She is also survived by two nephews, Edwin Horne and his wife, Oma of Riverside, CA, and Dr. William T. Horne and his wife Rebecca of Mill Valley, CA; and two special friends, Charles and Diedra Middleton.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Kluck and Rev. Faron Rogers officiating.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, Arkadelphia.

Private Burial Services will be held at Unity Cemetery.
