Marshall Sharp

Marshall Erskin Sharp, 89, of Little Rock, passed away July 17, 2011. He was born February 20, 1922 to Robert Leon Sharp and Marie Wright Sharp. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marie Sharp and Catherine Sharp Wortsmith and two brothers, Warner Sharp and Robert Sharp, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Lillard Sharp; daughter, Marcia Thompson (Sam); sons, Daniel Sharp (Anne), Robert Sharp (Laura) and Steve Sharp (Janell); grandchildren, Heath Sharp (Karrie), Trish Sharp, Zach Thompson (Jessica) and Amanda Thompson; great-grandchildren, Karlee and Logan Sharp, Nate and Aiden Thompson; sister, Marjorie Sharp Remmel; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Marshall retired from the Employment Security Division where he was recognized and awarded for placing many handicapped workers in jobs. He was a 1940 graduate of Catholic High School, a graduate of UCA and received his Masters from Louisiana Tech. He was a member of Holy Souls Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and was an Air Force Veteran of World War II.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 20 from 6-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Catholic High School, Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church or Faith United Methodist Church.
