Marlys Bost
Marlys Gay Bost, 65, passed away on May 21, 2019. Marlys was the youngest of four children, born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on September 16, 1953 to John O. and Vera Bost. Her early years were spent moving across the United States due to her father's work in the construction industry. These frequent moves strengthened the bonds with her siblings.
Marlys graduated from Hendrix College in 1973 with a degree in Math. She began her 30 year career as an employee for the State of Arkansas, first with the 2nd Injury Fund at Worker's Compensation Department and then as a claims adjuster with the Arkansas Insurance Commission. Marlys was an avid reader, an active participant in three book clubs. Her passion for continued learning was filled through LifeQuest of Arkansas. She was also a proud, lifelong, liberal Democrat who loved to discuss politics and current events.
Survivors include her mother, Vera Bost; her siblings, Johnny (Sandra) Bost of North Little Rock, Merry Alice (Chuck) Hesselbein of Little Rock and Paul (Chris) Bost of East Liverpool, Ohio. Marlys was a proud, loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, Matt and Aaron (Amber) Bost, David and Michael Hesselbein, Logan, Ryan, Jonathan and Jessica Bost, and her great-nephews, Samuel and Asher Bost. She will be greatly missed.
A service in celebration of Marlys' life will be held Tuesday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1100 North Mississippi Ave., Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifeQuest of Arkansas, P.O. Box 25523, Little Rock, AR 72221 and to the Cosmopolitan Foundation, P.O.
