Mark was a Master Plumber and Heat & Air Repair Specialist for Rector-Phillips-Morse for more than thirty years, before recently retiring due to his health. He was lovingly referred to by his family as a "Master Bug-Killer Extraordinaire" and his grandpa nickname was "Grumps". He was a talented handyman who could fix anything! Mark loved spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and watching baseball, especially the Arkansas Traveler's Games, where he enjoyed taking his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie and Pauline Jefferson and Harry and Margaret Barney; his parents Harry Day Barney and Margaret E. Barney; a sister, Cindy King, a niece Alissa King, a brother-in-law, Richard Gleason; and his parents-in-law, George D. and Winifred K. Gleason.
