Marge attended school in Nevada until the family moved to Farmersville, Texas in 1934. Later, the family moved to McKinney, Texas, where she graduated from McKinney High School in 1938. She graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Home Economics in 1942 and received a BS degree from the University of Texas the following year. Following college, she was employed by Pan American Airways and M.D. Anderson Hospital.
In 1951, she met and married Ralph R. Lloyd, Jr. on July 7. She discontinued working to be a homemaker and mother to Ralph and John. She was very involved in her sons' many activities. In 1956, the family joined Calvary Baptist Church, where Marjorie taught Sunday School and was very active in the Women's Missionary Society, serving as its president for several years.
In the mid 1970s, there came an influx of refugees from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Marjorie became involved in a program called Friendship, sponsored by Baptist churches in the Little Rock area. The program provided assistance to refugee wives and children in learning English, transportation, shipping, medical problems, paperwork, etc. Then there became an apparent need for the children to be in Sunday School and the adults in Bible Study on Sundays. Teachers and interpreters and transportation in an old school bus were provided; thus, the ministry at Calvary Baptist Church began. Many refugees moved to other locations but there remained a small group of Hmong and Laotion people. Recently, God provided a Hmong pastor for these Asian peoples. Marge Lloyd Day at Calvary Baptist Church was held September 24, 2006 in recognition of her service.
