Marion Ruth Theilig

Marion Ruth (Hicks) Theilig was born to Dale and Mabel (Martin) Hicks on the morning of July 12, 1946. She passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, January 27, 2024.

She met the love of her life, Frederick W. Theilig in early 1963 and they married on August 31, 1963. Fred was a young airman at Little Rock Air Force Base and he and Ruth began a life of love and adventure as a young military couple, serving at many bases across the United States, until they retired to Little Rock in 1983. Their love carried them through 60 years of marriage – always holding hands and supporting one another, even until the moment she passed.

Ruth and Fred had their first child, Richard, in October of 1964 and their daughter, Sharon, in November of 1968.

Theirs was truly a life of love. Ruth’s favorite chapter in the Bible was 1 Corinthians 13. This was the way she lived her life – loving her Lord, her husband, her family, and others.  She was a beautiful example of the Christian faith. Her grandchildren, Becca and Hunter were the JOY that completed their family.  If you knew her at all, you knew her family. If you asked how they were, she would pull out the family album and show you.  Yes, she loved her family!

Ruth was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Fred Theilig, son Richard Theilig (James Kelley), daughter, Sharon Stallmann, granddaughter Rebecca Stallmann (Elijah “Eli” Lovan), grandson Hunter Stallmann (Kailey Richardson). She is also survived by her brother, James “Jimmy” Hicks (Lisa Underwood), sister, Joyce Hicks (Joseph “Joe” Norton), sister-in-law, Louise (Theilig) Lamkin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Mabel and Dale Hicks, brother and sister-in-law, Martin Dale Hicks (Phyllis Dove), brother, Roger Eugene Hicks and her mother-in-law/father-in-law, Richard and Erika (Mendel) Theilig and brother-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Lamkin.
