Marion Elizabeth Spivey Phillips Looney

Marion Elizabeth Spivey Phillips Looney was born on December 27, 1926, and passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, just days shy of her 98th birthday. Born to Wadley Spivey and Clarice Martin, Marion lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to family, friends, and her community.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Matthew Phillips, Sr.; second husband, Elmer "Bill" Looney; her son, Daniel Matthew Phillips Jr.; and her daughter-in-law, Pam Looney. Survived by children Bob Looney and Carol (Wayne) Smith; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many loved ones.

Marion was a proud and active member of Second Presbyterian Church since 1975, becoming a deacon in 1985. Over the years, she contributed her time and talents to numerous church activities, including the Presbyterian Women Hospitality Group, Friendship Bible Class, as well as a wedding coordinator. She was also an active member of her local PEO chapter.

She was blessed to love and be loved by two wonderful men in her lifetime, both were taken from this world far too soon.

Marion was an accomplished seamstress. She combined her love of sewing with her other passion ballroom dancing by creating stunning pieces of art. Her grace on the dance floor was mesmerizing, earning her numerous trophies and accolades over the years.

As a grandmother, Meme was a constant source of love and support. She had a unique way of making each grandchild feel special. Her presence was a foundation of strength and warmth for her family.

We celebrate her reunion with loved ones in heaven, where she dances once more with grace. Her legacy will forever live on in our hearts. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 30, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Dr, Little Rock, Arkansas 72227. A private graveside will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Heart Association
