Marion Helen McGill, 85, of Little Rock passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2010. She was born in Fullerton, Nebraska to Martin J. Schumacher and Leona A. Steffes. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Little Rock. Marion was a registered nurse and retired after thirty-three years of service.
Marion was the widow of Albert John McGill (retired USAF Lt. Colonel) and is survived by her daughters, Helena Schulze (Gerry) of Little Rock and Leona Campbell (Tony) of Bluemont, Virginia; brothers, John M. Schumacher of Sebring, Florida and Leonard Schumacher of Belmont, California; sister, Janet Lincoln (Jerry) of Fremont, Nebraska; and grandchildren, Christopher M. and Benjamin A. Schulze of Little Rock.
Marion lived a full and fun life. She traveled worldwide with her husband during his time in the Air Force and continued her traveling adventures with her family. She loved her grandsons and their endeavors in Boy Scouting, having been the wife of a longtime scout and scoutmaster, and helped support their units in any way she could. Marion also loved her church and volunteered as much as she could there.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 with Rosary services starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 24, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1321 Van Buren, Little Rock, AR 72204 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Richard Zawadzki as celebrant. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to either Boy Scout Troop 30 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Rd., Little Rock, AR 72207 or to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
