Marilyn Kay Owens, of Royal passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on June 11, 1934, to the late Paul Radke, and Lucille Light in Liberal, KS.
In her journey through life, Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard J. Owens and her parents.
Throughout her career, Marilyn worked various odd jobs, like working in a thrift store to designing different kind of media. Marilyn was known for her love of crafting, particularly oil painting nature scenes. Additionally, she had a daily ritual of swimming in Lake Hamilton each morning, finding peace and rejuvenation in the waters. She also enjoyed cheering on her favorite football teams, both college and professional. Traveling was another one of Marilyn's great loves. She explored every corner of the country in her motor home and embarked on numerous memorable cruises, always eager to experience new adventures and create lasting memories.
Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family. Her sons Scott Hart and Blake Heart, daughter Marla (Robert) Orsburn, stepdaughter Sheila Mitchell, and two step grandchildren Tony and Tammy. She also leaved behind Milan Hart, the father of her children.
A celebration of life will be held at Alpine community center at a later date.
