Marie Murray age 87 of Midway (Hot Spring Co.) died July 19, 2007 in Arkadelphia. She was born February 3, 1920 in Benton County Arkansas, the daughter of Leo and Gertrude Cox Scantlin. Mrs. Murray was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church. Her husband, Thomas Doyle Murray Sr. preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Doyle Murray Jr. and his wife, Pat of Gatesville, Texas; one daughter, Tesa Strother of Midway; three brothers, James Scantlin of Gravette, AR.; Eugene Scantlin of Hutchinson, KS; Kenneth Scantlin of Eureka Springs, AR; two sisters, Viola Scantlin of Oklahoma; Anna Lee Green of Oceanside, CA.; two granddaughters, Davone Gonzales of Tyrone, GA.; Medea Alston of Midway; five great-grandchildren, Delaney Olson, Dillon Olson, Emma Gonzales, Madison Alston and Gabin Alston.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. John Clements and Rev. Kirk Gassman officiating. Interment will be in Neighbors Cemetery by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Visitation will Friday, 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made Riverside Baptist Church.
