Marie McLain

Marie Elaine Thorne-McLain, 69, was born on February 28, 1952, in Pendleton, Oregon to Robert and Genevieve (Humiston) Thorne. She gained her angel wings after a brave battle with cancer on December 3, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Marie grew up in Portland, Oregon where she attended and graduated high school. She was a bookkeeper and business manager for many years until she wanted to venture off with her own business being a massage therapist. She was a person of faith and lived life serving God and others. Marie enjoyed life, family members and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. She married David McLain, which ended in divorce, however, they had a collaborative and caring relationship. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other.

Marie is survived by her mother, Genevieve; brothers, Steve Thorne and Don Thorne of Portland, Oregon; and granddaughter, Allyssa McLain of Battle Creek, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thorne; brother, Jim Thorne; and daughter, Kimberly McLain.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be a memorial at a later date.
