Marie Fulmer Mayfield

Marie Fulmer Mayfield, 99, of Conway and Mabelvale, Arkansas went to her heavenly home on July 24, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Marie was born on November 30, 1924, in Vilonia, Arkansas to the late O.L. Fulmer and Vera C. Sellers Fulmer. 

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After high school, Marie worked at the defense plant in Jacksonville, Arkansas during World War II. She worked at the school cafeteria as her children grew up and attended school. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Preston Mayfield; son, Jimmie Mayfield; sisters, Mary Fulmer, Arbell Harris, Agnes Rushing, Joyce Cottrell, and Barbara Summers. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Moore (Larry); son, Johnnie Mayfield, Sr. (Patti); 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 10:30 AM at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR, followed by a service. Marie will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Cemetery, 7401 AR-5, Alexander, AR at 1:00 PM.
