Marie Marks

Marie Marks, 100, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with the Lord December 1, 2020.  She was born October 26, 1920 in Gurdan, Arkansas to the late Bud and Callie (West) McGurit.

Marie was determined to reach the young age of 100, and she did!  She looked forward to going to church whenever the doors were open.  She was a giver and always willing to help anyone in need.  She was a great cook and shared the abundance of her garden with her neighbors.  Marie wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of.  She was a hard worker, whether she was working in her garden or with helping with home health.  Marie was a wonderful lady who made everyone’s day a little brighter and better.

Preceding Marie in death are her husband, Rea Marks; parents; daughter, Sandra Kay Hughes; grandson, Josh Hughes; granddaughter, Angela Ortiz; sister, Hester Forthman; and brother, Ray Griffin.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters:  Johnnie Buck, Betty Swift, and Terri Lynn McClure; grandchildren:  Stacy Kelley, Kellsi Stormes, and Gary Hughes; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and many family members and friends who love Marie and will miss her always.

Graveside service, officiated by Bro. Don Key, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 7 at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery, 1010 Military Road, Benton, Arkansas.
