Marie Fuller

Marie Fuller, 81, was born on August 29, 1941 in Belize. 

At an early age, Marie accepted Christ and faithfully served in the Lord’s church until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

In 1966, Marie met and married William Jackson Hurst of Rector, Arkansas.  While in Rector, Marie worked as a seamstress.  This hardly felt like work as it was something Marie loved to do.  It was one of her favorite hobbies.  So much so that she eventually started her own business of sewing and embroidery.

After the death of her first husband, Marie eventually met and married Bennett Fuller, Jr. (“Bud”) and remained a faithful wife until his passing. 

Marie had a huge green thumb.  She loved working in her garden, where she would produce the most beautiful flowers.  In her later years, Marie loved volunteering at the VA Hospital.  She became a fixture there, where practically everybody knew her.  She spent many hours doing community work at the North Little Rock VA Hospital.  During her last year there, she was awarded a plaque thanking her for her service. 

Marie departed this life on Sunday, August 20, 2023. 

She leaves to mourn her three children:  William Jackson Hurst, Jr. (Korrie) of Fountain Hills, Arizona; Sebastian Hurst (Anita) of Fort Worth, Texas; and Shirley Swasey, who was her caregiver for the last 13 years of her life.  Marie also leaves to mourn two grandchildren, Raffy Hurst and Mikhail Hurst; and a host of other family and friends.
