Maribelle Lambert

Maribelle James Lambert, 81, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016. Maribelle retired after 34 years of service as a Registered Dietician and Director of Food Services at Harris Hospital in Newport, Arkansas. She was a member of the Arkansas Dietetics Association, serving as president and held many other offices. She was honored by being awarded the Outstanding Dietitian of the year in 2000.
She was a long-time member of Newport First Presbyterian Church and served as an elder and choir director for many years. The church honored Maribelle by naming the choir loft after her. After retirement, she was also an elder at Greers Ferry First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and remained involved with it from 1955 to her final years.
Her family and friends will remember her, for her kindness and sweet heart. She regularly volunteered with church, community, and her children's activities in Newport. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Rarely was there a special day in a friend's life that Maribelle failed to call or write a note of congratulations or appreciation.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob" Lambert; two sons, Bobby Lambert and wife Amanda, and Paul Lambert and wife Stacy; one daughter, Evelyn Smith and husband Charles; nine grandchildren, Kristin Lambert, Lauren Jones, Greer and Neali Lambert, Ian Smith, Clay, Ryan, Kara and Allen Lambert; one great-grandchild, Jackson Tarpley.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 4th & Main St., Newport, Arkansas, 72112, or Greers Ferry First Presbyterian Church, 49 Devil's Fork Rd, Higden, AR 72067.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 16th followed with a reception at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main Street. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15th at the funeral home.
