Marian Webb

Marian Quattlebaum Webb, of Beebe, Arkansas, 94, died in Dallas, Texas, on August 4, 2018. Marian was born on December 24, 1923, in Floyd, Arkansas. She married her childhood sweetheart, Merle Stafford Webb, on April 20, 1939. Her parents were the late Luda and John Quattlebaum. She was predeceased by her siblings, Eudonald Quattlebaum and Barbara Hefner.

Marian was a long-time public educator, starting out as a classroom teacher and becoming a counselor. She graduated from Arkansas Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas) and then received a master's degree in counseling from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was a faithful member of the Beebe First United Methodist Church for many years where she was a long-serving Sunday School teacher and a passionate supporter of United Methodist Women. She served as the Dean of the Arkansas School of Christian Missions and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She and Merle enjoyed volunteering at the Shepherd's Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Marchand and her husband, David Marchand, two granddaughters, Charity Turner, and her husband, Andy Turner, Chrystal Mathis and her husband, Sean Mathis and five great-grandchildren, the joys of her and Merle's life - Marian and Margaret Turner and Sarah Grace, Lilly and Brooks Mathis.

The family will celebrate Marian's life with a service at Beebe First United Methodist Church, 302 N. Main, Beebe, Arkansas, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe. Please make any memorials to the church. Arrangements by Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home. www.smithfamilycares.com
