Marguerite Eleanor Hurt Frost, 85, died Friday, February 13, 2009, at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas. She was born February 25, 1923, in Palestine, Arkansas, to Isham and Kate Hurt.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Corrine Hurt Bledsoe and Marie Hurt Mattioli; and her brother, Troy Hurt, preceded her in death.
Marguerite is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elijah Allen Frost, of Conway; two children; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Children are Susan Frost Helm and husband, Hank, of Searcy, Arkansas and Jack A. Frost and wife, Sarah, of Conway.
Grandchildren are Leslie Helm Dollar and husband, Mark, of Russellville; Allison Helm Smith and husband, William, of Ft. Hood, Texas; Alex Helm of Destin, Florida; Allen Frost of Mountain View, California; and Kate Frost Walker and husband, Wesley, of Bentonville, Arkansas.
She and her husband, Elijah, raised their children in North Little Rock and lived there until 2005 when they moved to Searcy. They have lived in Conway since September, 2008.
Marguerite was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock for 59 years. During those years she sang in the Chancel Choir, started and directed the Children?s Choir, served as an officer in United Methodist Women and was a member of the Sharing Fellowship Circle and the Crusaders Sunday School class. She was involved in the church?s food pantry and was instrumental in starting the XYZ Senior Citizens Ministry. Marguerite was also a member for 30 years in the Bellwood Home Demonstration Club.
During World War II, Marguerite worked in a munitions plant in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was very proud of her work and enjoyed being referred to as ?Rosie the Riveter.? She later worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Wesley Pool of North Little Rock and was active in Lakewood Elementary School?s Parent Teacher Association.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. Rev. Rich Mitchell and Rev. John Alston will officiate at the service. A time of visitation and fellowship will precede the service at 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
