Margie Norris

Margie Catherine Norris, 92, of Bauxite, AR went to her Heavenly Home Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Margie was born December 16,1931 to the late Barnett and Minnie (Clemmons) Duncan.

Margie was married to the love of her life, Arvel Norris, for 59 years until his passing on March 10, 2010. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening, reading mysteries and novels, and word search puzzles. She loved being with family and friends and hosting Christmas dinner, which was the highlight of the year. She had a home daycare, and the children knew her as either “Aunt Margie” or “Granny.” She was a member of Wakefield First Baptist Church and active in WMU.

In addition to her husband, Margie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Barnett Lee Duncan, Leonard Duncan, Johnnie Duncan; and sister, Mary Ellen Yurasovich. 

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah (Jim) Banks; son, Donald Norris; grandchildren: Jason Norris, Jennifer (Bryce) Nall, and Melissa Norris; great-grandchildren: Kinley Morrow, Lillian Nall, Olivia Smith, Christopher Norris, Dylan Verdot, and Tyler Verdot; and great-great-grandchild Christopher Verdot.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12:00 noon, followed by a 1:00 p.m. service at East End Baptist Church, 4701 East End Road, Hensley, AR, with Pastor Oliver Thomas officiating. The burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park,10201 Hwy. 5N, Alexander, AR.
