Margarito J. Escovedo, affectionately known as Nuro, peacefully passed away on February 8, 2024, in Midland, Texas. He was born on February 18, 1945, in Fort Davis, Texas.
Nuro led a fulfilling and admirable life as a dedicated concrete truck driver at L&S Concrete for an impressive 41 years. Known for his strong work ethic, Nuro took pride in ensuring that each job he undertook was completed with utmost precision and excellence.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nuro had a zest for life and pursued his hobbies with great enthusiasm. He found solace and joy in fishing and golfing, often spending his leisure time on the peaceful waters or honing his skills on the golf course. These activities allowed him to unwind and appreciate the wonders of nature.
Nuro's warm and kindhearted nature endeared him to all who knew him. His gentle spirit and caring personality made him a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He cherished his family dearly and was deeply devoted to Olivia Escovedo, his beloved wife and mother of their children.
Nuro's legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his wife Estela Escovedo as well as his children: Nunie Escovedo (Katie), Tony Escovedo (Cyndi), Eddie Escovedo (Sherese), Ronny Escovedo (Juanita), CJ Escovedo (Crystal). Nuro's grandchildren - Gabby Calaway (Josh), John-Philip Escovedo (Shae), Brady Scruggs (Scott), Hannah Escovedo, McKenzie Escovedo, Savanna Escovedo, Russell Ginn (Blair), Brianna Escovedo, Erica Escovedo, Jannett Garrido (Jeferson), Jasmine Garrido, Taylor Escovedo, Brynn Escovedo - were the light of his life. Additionally, he leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his heart.
Nuro is preceded in death by his 12 siblings, parents Francisco and Merced Escobedo, and a host of family and friends. His impact on their lives is immeasurable, and he will be dearly missed.
To honor Nuro's life, a series of services have been organized. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM on February 14, 2024, at the Smith Family Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Following the visitation, there will be a rosary at 9:30 with a memorial service beginning at 10:00 AM. The services aim to celebrate Nuro's remarkable legacy and provide an opportunity for loved ones to come together and pay their respects.
In memory of Nuro Escovedo, let us remember his unwavering dedication, his warm heart that touched so many lives, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures. He will forever remain in our hearts as an inspiration and an example of love, resilience, and grace. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
