Margaret Mae Suitt

Margaret Mae Suitt, passed away peacefully at her home on November 20, 2023, with her husband, Bill by her side. Born on December 27, 1941, in Annapolis, MD, Margaret's passion for education began early in life as she pursued her dreams and obtained a master's degree in teaching. She worked as a first-grade teacher at Forest City, Rose City, and Cloverdale Christian Academy, as well as a leader at Bible Study Fellowship.

Margaret had a vibrant personality that drew people to her, no holiday event was complete without one of Margaret's pies. The warmth of their home and the joy she infused into every gathering made Bill and Margaret's house a sought-after destination during festive occasions. In her free time, Margaret loved camping. Teaching children to read held a special place in her heart as she believed strongly in the power of education to transform lives.

Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Bill, who stood by her side throughout their journey. They shared a bond that was unbreakable, filled with unwavering support and deep affection. Margaret's son, Donavan held a special place in her heart, and she took great joy in watching him grow. Margaret is also survived by her sister, Judy Smith; nephew, Jeff Cater (Stacey), great-nephew, Kenneth Dwight Cater; her sisters-in-law, Jane Cater and Gloria Suitt; brother-in-law, Bob Suitt (Sammie); numerous cousins and loved ones mourn the loss of this remarkable woman.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest immediately after the service at Cutter Morningstar Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR.
