Margaret Honea
Margaret Elizabeth Honea, 91, of Little Rock, passed away September 30, 2009. Born May 9, 1918 in Gurdon, Arkansas to Henry Ross and Vondale Baumgardner Copeland, she graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in 1938, taught at Baptist School of Nursing and was Director of In-Service at Baptist Memorial Hospital, from which she retired in 1983. She was a member of the Robert Moore Bible Class at Asbury United Methodist Church since 1940.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Honea, Sr., parents and brother, Bob Copeland, she is survived by her sons, John Honea (Jane) and Ross Honea (Lolly), all of Little Rock; grandchildren, Karen, Kevin, Kim, Kristen, Michelle and John Tyra; sister, Mary Copeland of Hope; brother, James "Buddy" Copeland (Frances) of Arkadelphia; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 5 at 9:30 a.m. at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood, followed by an 11:00 a.m. service at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley, Little Rock, officiated by Rev. Jeff Jones. Visitation will be Sunday, October 4 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the Asbury UMC Scholarship Fund.
