Margaret "Ruth" Hickman

Margaret Ruth Campbell Hickman was born on September 25, 1944 as the only child to Andrew M. and Anna Mae (Grimmer) Campbell in Port Angeles, Washington. She is a 1963 graduate of T. A.  Futrall High School in Marianna, AR, and attended Teachers’ College in Conway, AR for 2 years. She married her high school friend and sweetheart, David Hickman, in 1965.  They soon made their home in North Little Rock, AR, where they lived for many years until they moved to Benton, AR. in 2009.  Ruth began work at North Little Rock Internal Medicine Clinic as an insurance clerk in 1983, eventually promoting to Office Manager until 2008. 

Ruth was mother to Jeffery O’Brian Hickman (Ashley Hickman) of Broken Arrow, OK., and Melisa Suzanne Hickman Bowman (Garth Bowman) of Conway, AR. She was grandmother to Peri Elisabeth Hickman Wiese (Mason Wiese) of Broken Arrow, OK., Peyton Rye Hickman Marler (Austin Marler) of Turlock, CA., Arabella Mae and Jayden Garth Bowman of Conway, AR.  She was also a dear long-time friend and surrogate mother to Martha Jones of Jacksonville, AR. Ruth is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband and one son, David Hickman, Jr.

She and her family worshipped together and were passionately involved in ministry for many years at Glad Tidings Assembly of God and First Assembly of God, both in North Little Rock, AR.  David and Ruth attended First Assembly of God in Benton, AR, upon moving there in 2009.

Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Benton on Friday, July 28th, 2023 at 9:00a.m.,  with a service to follow at 10:00a.m.  Honorary pallbearers are Jayden Bowman, W.E. (Billy) Grimmer Jr., W.E (Bubba) Grimmer, III, Lyle Grimmer, Austin Marler, Bob Perry, Charles W. Redding, Mason Wiese and Robert Wooten.
