Marcia Gay Peterson, 77 of North Little Rock, Preceded in death by: Her mother and father Ceona and Harry Driggs and her life long friend Mary Bass. Living Relatives: Her partner in crime Maggie Sanders and her daughter Peggy, son in law Derrick Wood and their son Jared, her son and daughter in law Chris and Kelly. Her brother Courtland Driggs his wife and their three daughters. Great Aunt Nathalia Fairboult her daughter and two sons. Daughter Marcia and son in law Bob Armstead Grandson Jonathan Armstead Daughter Mary Beth and son in law James Windom Granddaughter Angie and her husband Jeff Ellison. Her brightest ray of sunshine, Great Granddaughter Claire Ellison, to whom she was known as GG. Grandson Keith Nichols. Grandson Hunter Reeves. Granddaughter Sarah Windom. Son Scott and daughter in law Vickie Peterson. Grandson Josh Peterson. Son Greg and daughter in law Carla Peterson And an abundance of loving and adoring friends Born in Aurora, IL March 2, 1933. Graduated high school from St. Patrick's in Kankakee, IL. Was Miss Kankakee in 1950 President of the Arkansas Nursing League in the 1970's Worked as a nurse for 30 years. She made a difference in many nursing homes around the state. She eventually retired from the VA system. In her retired years, Marcia enjoyed working as a Mary Kay representative, alongside her daughter Marcia. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Marcia, or Grannymom as those who were close to her will always know her as, was a thoughtful, generous, humorous, pillar of strength. She enjoyed many hobbies including camping, fishing, gambling, golfing, watching sports (especially football), and most of all spending time with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to one of her favorite charities, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the National Alzheimer's Association, or St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Funeral Service to be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church by Father Frank Dupreez. 211 W. 19th St. North Little Rock, AR.
