Marcella Helen Pasierb

Marcella Ungerank Pasierb, 88, of Marche, Arkansas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 28th, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. She was born June 27th,1936 in Engelberg, Arkansas to Mike and Anna Ungerank. Marcella grew up on a farm with her nine siblings, where she learned to be a hard worker and love Jesus. She loved sharing stories about growing up. We will always remember her telling us about her Papa taking them to school on a boat when it flooded.

On September 16th,1967 Marcella married the love of her life, Ed, and together they were blessed with six children and eleven grandchildren. While raising her six children, she also had an in-home daycare where she took care of many kids for over 20 years. She loved welcoming children into her home. She also spent many years working at the after-school program at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. She continued to show her passion for children while working in the cafeteria at Crystal Hill Elementary for several years. After retiring, her hobbies included IHM bingo, volunteering at Hope Ministry and meeting up with friends at the Senior center to work out and visit.

Whenever you saw Marcella, she always had an infectious smile and laugh that radiated joy to everyone she came into contact with. The presence of Jesus was known when you were around her. She stood firmly in her faith and spirituality while remaining a devout Catholic until the very end. She attended Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary until she was no longer able to, and then she still attended online. Marcella was always known to have her rosary in hand and prayed it every morning before getting up and every evening before going to sleep. While suffering with pain and anxiety her last few months, she still remained faithful and prayed out loud everytime she was hurting.

Family was very important to Marcella. She always made sure her children were taken care of by being a selfless, patient and positive mom. She would do anything for her children and made sure they never missed a meal. She was the best cook and everyone loved her meals. Marcella enjoyed family get-togethers and always kept her house open to anyone who wanted to come and visit. Her grandchildren came over often, whether it was for an after-school snack or a sleepover on the weekend. She was a one-of-a-kind, sweet soul and we as her family count ourselves “Blessed” not lucky, as she would always tell us.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed Pasierb; son Louis Pasierb; parents Mike and Anna Ungerank; five brothers Herald, Gerald, Ralph, Urban, and Frank Ungerank; three sisters Ruth Hesse, Marie Clements, and Florence Courtney.

She is survived by her sister Joyce (Tom) Schmidt. She is also survived by five children; Jeff (Susan), Steve, John (Stacey), Ann, and Susan (Vincent) and 11 grandchildren: Abby (Justise), Emma, Olivia, Jack, Anna Kate, Ryan, Lizzy, Noah, Baylee, Charlee, and Landry. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and many friends.
