Mamie Robison McCallister, 95, left this life July 20, 2009. She lived at Our Lady of the Valley in Roanoke, Virginia for the past six years. Mamie was born in McRae, Arkansas. She is survived by her daughter, Betty and son-in-law Jim Bailey of Rocky Mount, Virginia. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold; parents Ota C. and Thomas Gaston Robison; siblings Gladys Vineyard, Earl Robison, D. E. Robison, & Elouise Scott; and nephew James Earl Robison.
Mamie is a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church. She received recognition for her years of membership and service to the United Methodist Women. She is a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, first in Andrews, Texas, then in Rocky Mount, Virginia. She has completed more than 1,000 volunteer hours. Three years ago, Mamie was recognized by the Order of the Eastern Star for sixty years of continuous membership. She is proud to have served as Grand Representative of Virginia to Arkansas and enjoyed the opportunity to share her native state with her Virginia traveling companions. Many individuals will miss her.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at Lebanon Cemetery, McRae. Arrangements by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
