Major R. Blucker, 87, of Jacksonville, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home on July 17, 2009. He was born July 12, 1922 in Olmstead, Arkansas. Major served in World War II and retired from the VA Hospital.
Major was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marie Quattlebaum Blucker and infant daughter, Mary Ellen Blucker; his father and mother, Oscar Roy and Linnie Blucker; three sisters, Ruth Blucker Crosser, Edith Blucker Jones, Shirley Blucker Sullivan; one brother, Guy Clifford ?Dickie? Blucker.
He is survived by one brother, Wayne Blucker of Jacksonville; his daughter, Diane Blucker Hamilton of Jacksonville; two sons, James Roy Blucker and wife, Gail and David Blucker and wife, Virginia of Sherwood; seven grandchildren, Eric Hamilton (Thresa) of Mayflower, Melanie Spears (Brian) of Jacksonville, Christa Darr (Roger), Michelle Moore, Lisa Wilson (Tommy), Sara Waters (Jeff) And Jason DeWitt all of Sherwood; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
