Magdalene Judith Kitta

Magdalene Judith Kitta “Maggie", 88, passed away on Thursday , June 20, 2024 in Memphis. She was born October 23, 1935 in Marche, AR to George and Louise Kromray.

Maggie was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Draughn’s School of Business. She was employed for many years by First American Bank in North Little Rock, where she started as a bank teller, and later held various other positions until her retirement. She had many fond memories of the friends she made at the bank.

Maggie enjoyed trying new recipes and cooking traditional Polish foods for her family, as well as drawing, doing crossword and other puzzles to keep her mind sharp, and of course, the occasional visit to one of the casinos. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. More recently, she moved to Memphis to be closer to family.

Maggie is survived by her daughter, Judith Peterson; son-in-law, Kevin; grandsons, Michael and Logan; her sister, Loretta Amotti; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; by her parents; and her sister, Angelyn Adams.

Maggie was a lifelong supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude or to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

The family would also like to thank the staff of Brightmore Assisted Living in Memphis, who were a blessing to us during these last weeks.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Rosary at 10:30 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be next to her husband, Arthur, at Immaculate Heart Cemetery.
