Madge Connell

Madge (Conzel) Connell, age 88, passed away peacefully with family at her side on September 1 at Presbyterian Village in Little Rock, AR. Born in Malvern, AR, she was the daughter of Effie and Robert Conzel and lived most of her years in Hot Springs.

Madge enjoyed life to the fullest and was always quick to laugh - especially at herself. She had a kind, selfless, easygoing, and generous spirit. Among her favorite activities were playing basketball in high school, being part of a successful bowling team and traveling to various fun locations with them, fishing (especially with cousin Juanita McClain), boating, playing a "mean" game of pinochle, and feverishly cheering for the Razorbacks!

Madge served as an accounting clerk at Reynolds Metals/Alcoa for 43 years and retired in 1988. She enjoyed many gatherings with co-workers even after retiring.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother: John Peter Conzel; two sisters: Jettie Wright and Martha Brooks; a nephew: Richard Owen Brooks; and longtime love and companion Dewey S. Crow.
Survivors include stepdaughters Vivian Belinda Crow and Christal Crow (husband Trey) Moore; nephews John Robert Wright and William Wright; cousins Jean (Conzel) Young and Larry Archer; niece Linda Bagwell; nephew John P. Conzel, Jr.; grandson Nathan Winton; and granddaugher Haley Gilliam.
The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to those caregivers and nurses who gave loving and compassionate care to Madge. Thank you so much.

A memorial service to honor her will held in Malvern, AR, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to a favorite charity.
