Mackie Burris age 69, of the New DeRoche Community near Bismarck, died Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was born November 16, 1946 to John M. and Ellen Iola Wilkerson Prince. Mackie was a Registered Nurse having worked with Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital and Hot Spring County Health Department in Malvern and Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock and Arkadelphia. She was an active member of Caney Missionary Baptist Church where she was involved in the Church Choir and Ladies Bible Study Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her father and mother in-law.
She is survived by her husband of over forty-nine years, Leslie Burris; her children, Mike Burris and wife, Sonnie of Bismarck, Rodney Burris and wife, Kelly of New Jersey; one sister, Sue Jackson of Bismarck; five grandchildren, Bridgett, Sarah, Matthew, Jackson and Nathan.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 22nd at Caney Missionary Baptist Church with Ralph Ruffin, Patrick Grier and Robert Cossey officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
