Mabel Tallent, 94, passed peacefully into the presence of God on Thursday, April 30, 2014 in Plano, Texas.  She was born in Arkansas on May 9, 1919 and lived many happy years there.  She spent her last years in Texas, but Arkansas was always the home of her heart.  Mabel was a devoted Christian and a long time member of DeGray Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, AR.  She worked many years for the State of Arkansas and after her retirement was a tireless volunteer for the Ladies Auxiliary at Baptist Health Medical Center of Arkadelphia .
Mabel is survived by her three sons: Jim Bledsoe, Roy Bledsoe and Steve Tallent.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren and  nieces and nephews scattered around the country.  Mabel was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stephen Tallent, her daughter Sandra, and her siblings.  She rejoices to be reunited with her loved ones and her Lord.
Mabel never met a stranger and was much loved by all who knew her, friends and family alike.
Visitation for Mabel will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 1:30- 2:30 PM at  Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home located at 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, AR.  The visitation will be immediately followed by a 3 PM graveside service at DeGray Cemetery
