Mabel Lee Rowland, age 78, of Glenwood, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. She was born on October 3, 1940 in Glenwood, the daughter of Grover Wilson Caldwell and Mildred Evelyn Stroope Caldwell. On April 25, 1969, she was married to Duane Rowland who preceded her in death on May 8, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Peyton Gail Rowland; her great-grandson, Ryder Archer; and her brother, Billy Caldwell. Mable Lee was a licensed practical nurse and retired after thirty-five years of service at Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Community Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed camping, fishing and loved being with her family. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Shawn and Ginger Rowland, and Wanda and Jimmy Jones, all of Glenwood, Debbie and Stevie Lambert of Amity, Stacey and Troy Hamner of Caddo Gap and Bruce and Joy Rowland of Arkadelphia; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, LaDane and Stanley Carmack of Mountain Pine. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Jim Ivy and Bro. Jeremy Graves officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents of Oak Park Village and her sister, LaDane Carmack. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
