M. Keith Kimbro

Malcolm Keith Kimbro, age 70, passed away on October 21st, at his home in North Little Rock, Arkansas, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Born on May 7, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Hunter Lane Kimbro of Forrest City and Lonnie Hargett Kimbro of Blytheville, Arkansas. 

Keith (Kim) was a proud graduate of Forrest City High School, class of 1972, where he was a member of the Mustang Band and was active in Delta Sigma fraternity. He attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at ASU and played in a rock and roll band called Shaky Jake.

In 1982, Keith began his lifelong, successful career in the insurance industry. In 1997, he started his own firm, Risk Reducers LLC, and was able to enjoy an early retirement. 

Keith’s deepest love was for his wife, Cindy, his family, and his extended family who he cherished above all else. Keith was dedicated to sharing the love of God with others. He was a member of New Life Church in North Little Rock and lead a life group for many years. He lived a life of encouragement and generosity to his family and friends that touched the heart of all who knew him. 

Keith’s love for travel was an integral part of his life. He and his wife embraced every opportunity to visit all corners of the world. 

He was a proud resident of the state of Arkansas in which he lived his entire life. He was happy to be found boating the Greers Ferry Lake, fishing the White River, watching the Razorbacks or mowing his own lawn. No matter where he traveled, he was glad to always call Arkansas his home. 

His heart also overflowed with affection for his faithful dog, Max, who was his constant companion. 

Keith is survived by his wife, Cindy; his sister Karen (Kitty) Weatherford and her husband Wayne of Heber Springs; his son, Hunter Kimbro II of Bella Vista; his step daughter, Sarah McIntosh and her husband Nathan of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jayce Kimbro (12), Levi McIntosh (6), and Lila McIntosh (3), who affectionately called him “Papa Kim”. 

His life leaves a legacy that will be remembered by his family and many dear friends with great fondness. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Red Cross. redcross.org

The graveside ceremony will begin Friday, November 1st, at 2:00 pm, at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City, AR. There will be a Celebration of Life the following morning, Saturday, November 2nd, at 10:30 am, at New Life Church, 8000 Crystal Hill Road, North Little Rock, AR.
