M. Lowell (Sonny) Carrithers, 72, of Little Rock passed away Friday, May 9, 2008. He was born October 31, 1935 in Texarkana, Arkansas and is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Clem Milburn and Ann Moser Carrithers. He was retired from the State and then worked for the Professor Bowl for the remaining years of his life.
Mr. Carrithers loved the outdoors, especially camping and canoeing. He became a scout master and started the first scout troop at St. James United Methodist Church.
Mr. Carrithers is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara Ann; son, Howard (Rachel) Carrithers of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Cherie (Todd) Moore of Little Rock; god-daughter, Barbara Ann (Bryan) Robinson of Little Rock; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Music Department, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212 or Hospice Home Care Center, 2200 South Bowman Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.
A celebration of his life will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday at St. James United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley Dr. The family will greet friends at a reception in the church dining hall following the service.
