Lynn Ellen Weeks

Lynn Ellen Gates Weeks, born March 30, 1949 to Robert and Aldona Gates of Springfield, Illinois passed away Friday, July 14.  Lynn graduated NLR High School in 1967 and attended UCA where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education. She had a true gift for teaching and impacted many lives throughout her years as a Special Ed teacher.  Great teacher that she was, her number one dedication was to her children, Tory and Tanner, in whom she instilled independence and a respect for others.  She was a loving grandmother to Diana and Sophia with whom she enjoyed spending time and creating special memories at her house in Lakewood that was like a second home to them.  Lynn was the only girl growing up in a household of brothers. She was athletic and excelled in water sports. In later years she loved to read and was an avid walker.

Lynn will be greatly missed by her children Tory Stephens and husband Scott, Tanner Weeks and wife Paulina, granddaughters Diana Lynn Weeks and Sophia Mae Weeks.  She is preceded in death by brothers Michael Gates and Richard Gates.  She is survived by brother Charles Gates and wife Missy, sisters-in-law Jenny Gates and Kathy Gates, several nephews and nieces, and many friends, all of whom will miss her uplifting, positive spirit.

There will be no formal memorial.  To honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://app.securegive.com/firstnlr/north-little-rock/donate/category?cats=31413&amts=false&recurring=true
