Lynda Carolyn Smith Kimbrough, 72, of Scott, went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.F. "Bill" and Helen Dickinson Smith. She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, James Hugh "Jimmy" Kimbrough; her sister, Sallye SuzAnne Smith of Eureka Springs; and her two daughters, LynAnne Lassiter Ivy (Russell) of Lonoke and Holly Lassiter Hutcheson (Clint) of Benton. Lynda was a loving stepmother to Jim Kimbrough (Melissa) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jerry Kimbrough (Tanya) of Winder, Georgia and John Kimbrough (Angie) of Bryant. She loved being MiMi to her grandchildren, Megan Aukes (Aaron), Lyndsey Taylor High (Matt), Sydney Wheat, Preston Taylor and Weston Hutcheson; great-granddaughter, Ava Aukes; step-grandchildren, Taylor, Spencer, Adam and Jamie, Trent, Joshua, Levi and Daniel, Ashton and Kale Kimbrough, and Andy Ivy. Lynda was a foster mother to Mira Bridwell Tager of Kentucky and a host mother to six exchange students from around the world, Sheila and Cintia of Brazil, Lia of Holland, Paivi of Finland, Diana of Columbia, and Tommy of Sweden; as well as her best friend, Pollyanna Gardner of Little Rock and her beloved dog, Trixie.

Lynda was a 1960 graduate of Fuller High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College. She was a hair stylist for many years and retired from the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology where she served as a state inspector. She loved entertaining friends and family, shopping, gardening, oil painting and attending her weekly Bible study with friends. Above all, being with her family was the highlight of her life. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. She opened her home for many years to Bible studies and prayer meetings.

A celebration of Lynda's life will be Tuesday, May 5 at Woodson Cemetery in Hensley. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARTI of Arkansas, P.O. Box 55011, Little Rock, AR 72215.
