Marie “MeMo” Bennett
“Hold on to the love, not the loss.”

Though our hearts are broken at the loss of our beautiful Mom, we will forever cherish her love. Marie “MeMo” Bennett was born June 30, 1938 in Little Rock, Arkansas. At 84 years old, she finished her race October 25, 2022.

She richly filled her dash with meaningful moments. She graduated from Mount St Mary Academy in 1956. She worked at Union Life Insurance Company, National Old Line Insurance Company, and later retired from the Arkansas Department of Insurance. Mom made treasured friends at each place that remain to this day. In retirement, she found her friends that became family while living her artist dream painting at the Maumelle Senior Center. She loved her church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society, and enjoyed serving at Hope Ministry. Mom also loved being outside and loved her flowers. She could often be found sitting on her deck with her iPad in hand watching whatever sporting event was being shown, completing crossword puzzles in ink, admiring her backyard, or simply listening to her windchimes.

Mom’s greatest joy was family. She married the love of her life, our dad, John W Bennett, in November 1959. This was the beginning of her greatest blessing in her dash.
Together they built their family with five children: Michael (Renee) Bennett, Michelle (Danny) Uekman, Lisa Bennett, John (Leslie) Bennett, and Kathryn (Mark) Pruss. Mom’s momentous title was being known as MeMo to her grandchildren, Kaley (Gabriel) Krug, Chase Bennett, Meagan Uekman, Liam and Lydia Bennett, Jacob, Connor, and Emma Pruss, and great granddaughter, Iris Krug. She cherished her time in the bleachers cheering for her children, later her grandchildren, or anyone that needed her on their side. She was MeMo to many. She loved us fiercely, and was our biggest fan throughout her life.

On October 25, 2022, our Mom was gloriously reunited for eternity in Heaven with our Dad, John, our sister, Lisa, seeing her whole and healed for the first time; her grandson, Garrett, along with her parents, Alec and Hazel Schnebelen, and her brother Alex Schenebelen.
