Luther G. Bryant of Springfield, Arkansas passed away on July 15, 2022 in his home with family by his side. Luther was born on April 8, 1934 in Center Ridge, Arkansas; the son of Thomas Jefferson and Weda Mae Bryant. He married his wife of 68 years Wanda (Williams) Bryant in 1954. He is a member of Harding Street Church of Christ, and a former Elder at Formosa Church of Christ.
Luther loved coaching both his sons in baseball in earlier years. Luther was always involved in whatever interested his sons, like baseball, horses, bluegrass music; and riding clubs. He and Wanda always looked out for their neighbors. He enjoyed gardening, and sharing his bounty generously with friends and family. He enjoyed playing games of Dominos, checkers, Rook or Rummy with his children, grandchildren, or whomever would play against him. He was always a joy to be around, and had funny sayings for just about any occasion. He was a truck driver for various freight companies during his working life. His family remembers how hard working he was.
Luther leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Wanda Bryant of Springfield; his sons Russell Bryant and his wife K.C., and Mark Bryant and his wife Jodi, six grandchildren Jason Bryant and wife Elizabeth, Justin Bryant, Jessica Robertson and husband Daniel, Ashley Meyers and husband Brad, Shelby Hottinger and her husband Corey, and Ethan Bryant, great grandchildren Nathan, Aiden, Leo, Silas and Brycen; as well as his five sisters Ruth Williams, Stella Foster, Helen Dixon and husband Ray, Gayle Williams and husband Arlie, and Brenda Tuohey. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother William Carroll Bryant, his sister Louise Johnson and her husband Gerald, Shirley Shields, and brothers-in-law Harold Williams and Harvey Foster.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Harding Street Church of Christ; 906 E. Harding Street Morrilton, Arkansas 72110. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am in the church, with Charles Bane officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Center Ridge, Arkansas beginning around 1:00 pm. Lutherâs family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Arkansas Hospice or the Southern Christian Home in Morrilton
