Lula Mae Starling, 72, of Little Rock, widow of Jake Wesley Starling, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2008. Born February 10, 1936 in Blytheville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Archie and Dora Ault Dillinger. Mrs. Starling was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church and was a long-time employee of J. C. Penney's.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Pauline Dillinger; two grandchildren, Dewayne Holt and Amanda Holt; and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her daughter, Judy Sims and her son, Harold Starling; her husband and parents; brothers, Raymond Dillinger and James Dillinger; and her sister, Esther Taylor.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 8 from 2-4 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Services will be on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Crystal Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Larry Ballard, followed by burial in Perryville Cemetery.
