Lula Mae (Goodwin) Bewley, 84, of Little Rock, passed away on December 29, 2023, surrounded by family as she left her earthly body and entered the gates of Heaven.
Lula Mae was born on February, 10, 1939 to the late Charles Newton Goodwin Sr., and Era (Haggard) Goodwin.
Lula Mae, lovingly known as “MaMaw” was loved by all that was fortunate to know her. She was a very loving and compassionate person, who cared for many family members during their time of illness and passing from this life. Although she was not a licensed nurse and this was not her career, caring for people in their time of need was her calling.
After graduating from Little Rock Central High, she married the love of her life, Charles K. Bewley, who proceeded her in death in 2019 after sixty-one years of marriage.
She was also proceeded in death by two brothers, Charles N. Goodwin jr. and Roy J. Goodwin, and one sister, Carolyn Caskin.
She is survived by three children, Sharon (Bobby) Leonard, Charlene “Charley” (Larry) Haynes, Wayne (Tonya) Bewley; grandchildren, Jason Ragland, Christy (Josh) Roberts, Jeremy Koller, Ryan (Courtney) Bewley, Austin (Mary) Bewley; great grandchildren, Brett, Keegan, Dawson, Brock, Laikynn, and Harper.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 4th from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Park Baptist Church, 8200 Flintridge Rd. Little Rock, Ar.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 5th, at 1:30 p.m., at Oak Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Oak Park Baptist Church, where Lula Mae was a long-time member.
