Luellen Head Young

Luellen Head Young, 95, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away March 24, 2025. She was born in Magnolia on July 22, 1929 to the late Garland and Vera Wilson. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A dedicated member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, a member of the PEO, and she also served the community through the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, including a term as president, where she made a lasting impact.

Luellen loved to travel, creating cherished memories with family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy, and as a mother and grandmother, she provided unwavering support, wisdom, and love. Her kindness and nurturing spirit made everyone feel special. A gifted cook, Luellen’s meals brought people together, whether at family gatherings or community events. Her kitchen was a place for laughter, stories, and connection.

Luellen’s infectious smile, generosity, and deep friendships made her a beloved figure. She will be remembered for her service to others and the joy she brought into every room.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Harold Wilson and James Head; her husband Newton Young; and two grandsons: Jeremy Owens and Josh Young. Survivors include two children; Mark Young (Sydney) and Gwen Brown; three grandchildren, Sean Owens, Allyson Horton (Kirk), and Amanda Farmer; great-grandchildren; Sierra Owens, Lillie Owens, Brayden Pruss, Gracelynne Pruss, Andrew Quesnel (Madi), Ethan Forbes, Shiloh Farmer, Libby Karch and Jackson Karch; a great-great-grandson, Elijah Quesnel; and several extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral at 2:00 PM, Saturday March 29th at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army.
