Loyd G. Love, age 75, of Glenwood, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011. He was born on September 19, 1935, at Norman, the son of Major Leva Love and Lona True Perrin Love. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Quintella Caldwell Love; his son, Mark Love; his granddaughter, Brittany Fagan; and two brothers, Billy Love and Felix Love. On June 23, 1997, he married Anita Featherston Driggers. He was a member of the Community Bible Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, enjoyed working in Vacation Bible School and sharing his faith on mission trips. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served for four years and the U.S. Army, also serving for four years and attended Henderson State Teachers College, where he received an Associates of Art degree. In May, 1997, he retired from CertainTeed. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, attending the Glenwood Senior Adult Center, watching high school sports and the Arkansas Razorbacks and will always be remembered for his great love of hot rolls and ice cream. He is survived by his wife, Anita Love of Glenwood; his children, Tim Love and Melinda Helms of Glenwood, Ronnie and Pattie Driggers of Glenwood, Rhonda and Carl Harmon of Murfreesboro, Tammy and Sonny Gaston of Dardanelle, Terry and Tony Hill of Bonnerdale and Donna and Marc Webb of Glenwood; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, J. W. and Nona Love of Black Springs; one sister, Edda May Love of Conway; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 8, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Gene Graves, Bro. Brian Adair and Bro. Tony Hill officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Zach Rieves, J. C. Harmon, Mark Harmon, Allen Driggers, Nathan Gaston and Dalton Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Isaac Love, Blake Harmon, Justin Driggers, Charlie Gaston, Cody Hill and Austin Cox; his great-grandsons; and Dr. Matthew Hulsey and his staff.
