Loyd ?Wayne? Benson, 59, of Roland, went home to be with the Lord August 12, 2007. He was born in Roland on November 13, 1947 to Lena Benson and the late Loyd Benson. He was a dedicated employee for Arkansas Trailer Manufacturer for 35 years and he was also a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He is a member of Monnie Springs Assembly of God. He loved his family, friends, work, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded by his grandparents and his sister, Deborah. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Vicki L. Benson; three sons, Trafton Wayne ?Red?, William Loyd ?Willum? and Houston Robert ?Robby? (Stacy); two daughters, Jennifer L. Swanson and Theresa Goodson; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, John, Ronald and Donald all of Roland; three sisters, Mildred Lunsford of Roland, Barbara Goodson of Ferndale and Mary Whenrey of Hot Springs; many nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by all. He was a man with a generous heart and touched the lives of everyone who knew him. All were blessed to have loved and known such a great man.
Memorial may be made to the Monnie Springs Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Monnie Springs Assembly of God. Burial will be in Kennerly Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
