Loyal D. Barrett

Loyal D. Barrett, age 77, of Amity, died Thursday, February 3, 2011. He was born on February 14, 1933, in Alpine, the son of Thomas Jacob "Jake" Barrett and Versie Viola Garner Barrett. He was a longtime member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Pearcy, was dearly loved by his family and church family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Barrett of Amity; his children and their spouses, Brenda and Huey Ward of Amity, Betty and Don Rowton of Mountain Pine, Patty and Billy Keener, Terry and Gary Buck and Billy and Paula Barrett, all of Amity; twelve grandchildren, Theresa Diemer, DeWayne Ward, Cindy Vincent, Tim Davis, Joey Chancellor, Chris Davis, Jason Tisdale, Jesslyne Yeager, Daniel Buck, Jeremy Buck, Casey Barrett and Samantha Blair; seventeen great-grandchildren, Kayla Wilson, Kendra Wilson, Rachel Jordan, Cody Ward, Ashley Ward, Kara Ward, Hannah Ward, Summer Ward, Michael Ward, Courtney Davis, Clayton Davis, Chance Chancellor, Krystal Davis, Hayley White, Blakelyn Buck, Ian Barrett and Zoey Blair; three brothers, Ray Barrett and Floy Lay Barrett, both of Amity and Loy Jay Barrett of Newhope; four sisters, Inez "Toppie" Harvey of Rosboro, Ruby Porter of Pearcy, Fay Norris of Rosboro and Sue Francis of Amity; and his dog, Abraham Barrett. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011, in the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Pearcy with Bro. Dennis Anderson and Bro. Bob Fruen officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM until service time at the church. Interment will be in the Coker Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob McGee and George Burks, Sr. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
