Loxie Martin

Loxie Leanne Martin, 66, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away September 14, 2022. She was born December 16, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas to the late Edwin and Darlene Lang.

She earned a Technical Certificate in Medical Transcription in 2011 from Pulaski Technical College. She worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for Arkansas Pathology Associates in Little Rock before she supported the Conway location in an office manager and pathology support role.

Loxie was an amazing cook and loved cooking for her family. She even owned her own restaurant "Loxie's Kitchen" in Bokoshe, Oklahoma during the late 1990's.

She enjoyed helping her daughter with gardening, walking her fur baby Jasper, soaking up the sun’s rays and reading a good book.

Loxie is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Lana Carter, Linda Lang and Loretta Lang.  She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Leigh Martin (Rick Owens); granddaughter, Delaney Elizabeth Martin; bonus grandsons, Alex and Sean Martin; niece, Chelsey Elizabeth Lang Elaban who was like a second daughter; niece, Lachelle Carter and nephew, Matthew Carter and one brother, Larry Lang.

Visitation will be from 12:30PM-1:30PM Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with a funeral service beginning at 1:30 PM. Burial will immediately follow at 3:00PM at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Loxie’s memory to the Mr. Mo Project (nationwide senior dog rescue).
