Lowell Eugene Hapner peacefully passed into eternity on December 15, 2020 at the age of 85 with his family at his side.
Lowell will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Lottie (Curry) Hapner, daughter Sondra Hapner, son Mike Hapner (Becky), granddaughter Adelia Hapner, and great-grandchildren Matthew Wright, Jr., Daisy Wright, and Kelly Wright, sister Phyllis Wyatt (Ezra), many nieces and nephews, and many many friends and ministers of like faith. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Treva (Swihart) Hapner, and grandson Matthew Wright, Sr.
He was born July 15, 1935 in New Paris, Ohio to Robert and Treva (Swihart) Hapner. After being raised in that Godly home, he professed his love for the Lord at sixteen years old and began his walk with Jesus that continued throughout his life.
As a teen and young man, Lowell excelled at his work building cabinets and furniture. In 1970, Lowell and Lottie moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where he continued to build cabinets and work in residential construction. A few years later, he became a general contractor and spent the 1980s and 90s remodeling and building homes as well as numerous commercial chicken farms housing millions of egg-producing hens. Prior to retirement he worked on various projects for the Simpson family of Trilby, Florida. Throughout life, his hands were almost never idle, and even after retiring to Arkansas he enjoyed doing more than his share of yard work and home improvement projects.
Lowell was a humble, kind, quiet, and patient man. He didn’t say much, but he lived a wonderful example of his faith before his family and all those he came in contact with. He loved the Epistle of James in the Bible, and often shared thoughts from that scripture in testimony during weekly fellowship meetings. It was clear from observing his life that he was seeking things that would bear spiritual fruit and lead to eternal life.
Though he was a hard-working man and worked long hours, he always made time to be with his family. He enjoyed pier fishing, deep-sea fishing, camper trips, picnics at local parks, reading, and playing (and quietly winning) games with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family is very thankful for the last few loving years together preceding his death in Beebe, Arkansas.
