Lovell F. Barger, of Troy, Michigan, died February 2, 2010. He was born June 21, 1922 to Elbert and Tura Russell Barger in the 16th Section community of Lonoke County, Arkansas where he grew up. After serving in the Navy in WWII, he moved to Michigan and was residing in Allen Park for forty years. Upon retirement from Mobil Oil Corp., he moved to Troy, Michigan and he and his wife Eleanor also enjoyed the warm winters at their condominium in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Ruth, a son, Ronald, and a granddaughter, Leah.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Bakos) Barger; and his daughter, Sonja (Barger) Armstrong.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at 16th Section Cemetery, in sight of his birthplace.
