Louis James Sharp, 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Born in Little Rock to Floyd and Ethel Brewer Sharp, he was a member of the 65th Street Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Navy fighter pilot during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Merritt Sharp and his daughter, Becky Cawthon, both of Temple Terrace, Florida; brother, William E. Sharp of Gulf Breeze, Florida; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Louis Allen Sharp; brother, Harold Sharp; sisters, Virginia Huey and Juanita Byrd; son-in-law, Steve Cawthon; and granddaughter, Lora Sharp.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Mr. Michael Cawthon, Mr. Matthew Cawthon, Mr. Patrick Cawthon and Mr. Lucas Griggs. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock.
