Louie D. "L.D." Tackett

Louie D. "L.D." Tackett, age 83, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016. He was born on April 30, 1933, in Bonnerdale, the son of Jeff Davis Tackett and Gracie Blanche Smith Tackett. On November 28, 1953, he was married to Rita Sue Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Edgar and J. W.; and three sisters, Clara, Rene and Dorthy. He was Presbyterian in his faith, a U.S. Army veteran, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #662. He worked for many years as an auto technician. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Sue Tackett of Tucson, Arizona; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Louie D. "Dave" Tackett, Jr. and William A. and Marie T. Tackett; two grandchildren, Stefanie and Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren, Bruce and Bryan; one brother, Clifford Tackett; and two sisters, Laura M. Wagner and Verna Black. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Glen Harris officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Howton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Holly Bond, Bob Morphew, Tony Morphew, John Morphew, Adam Baker and Matthew Baker. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
